BASIC PHOTOSHOP FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS Beginning Wednesday, March 7, 2018 6:00-8:00pm Lake City High School Take your digital photos to the next level by learning the basics of Adobe Photoshop, the industry standard image editing program. Students will learn some of the basic tools and procedures used by photographers to edit their images and achieve their artistic vision. Course consists of five classes every Wednesday beginning March 7th, 2018. What you will learn: • Menus, actions, and basic workflow • Using Adobe Camera RAW • Basic tools and filters • Using layers and masks • Plugins and intermediate features • Typical procedures used by photographers CLASS SCHEDULE March 7: Setup, menus, and basic tools March 14: Using layers March 21: Using masks March 28: Intermediate procedures, plugins, and real world examples April 4: Capstone BRING TO CLASS • Working laptop with subscription to Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud installed. Older versions of Photoshop will work but may not contain all the features and procedures discussed. If you have an older version, contact Jeff at the email link above to see if your version will work. • USB memory drive (4gb min) for use in transferring files and assignments • Separate USB mouse (optional but recommended as it will be easier to use than the built-in laptop tracker) If you do not currently have Adobe Photoshop, you can check out www.adobe.com for information on plans and prices. The cheapest option is their "Photography Plan (20gb)", which costs $9.99/mo. It comes with Photoshop and Lightroom. PREREQUISITES While students do not need to be experts in computers and photography, the subject matter being discussed will require a basic working knowledge of each. If you have experience using basic software programs, file management, and a basic understanding of the digital photography process, this course is for you.
